Happy National Family Health and Fitness Day!

Today promotes family involvement in physical activity.

When families strive to be healthy together, the success rate increases. Incorporating exercise and a healthy diet into a family’s lifestyle takes a team effort. It’s kind of like celebrations. Who celebrates alone?

A great way to enjoy National Family Health and Fitness Day is by cooking a nutritious meal together. Learning new exercises or taking a hike together (this pic is from our family hike in the hills of Northern Minnesota).

I’ve been trying to come up with jokes about people who don’t exercise but none of them work out. My doctor recommended that I exercise to slim down and drink orange juice for vitamins and hydration. He calls it the “weight and C approach”.

Mom: Why did you stop working out in the morning?
Dad: I’ve joined the fitness protection program.

Q: How does a T-Rex feel after going to Cross Fit?
A: Dino-sore.

Q: Why did the dairy farmer take his cattle to the gym?
A: To exercise his calves.

Q: Which machine at the gym is a koala’s favorite?
A: The eucalyptical.

Q: What is Shrek’s favorite exercise?
A: Hot yogre.

Q: What does seven days without exercise make?
A: One weak.
